Calendar of Events 2007-2008

Today through Sept 28th, 2007 - Frank Fogler Legacies exhibition in the ACHS Museum in the Santa Fe Depot. Special photographic pickup days TBA in July. Listen to KAIR Radio or the Atchison Globe for distribution dates. Or call or email to be notified of dates.

Monday, July 16th - 7 p.m. - ACHS Board of Directors Regular Monthly Meeting at the Santa Fe Depot.

Friday, July 20th - Saturday, July 21st - All Day - 11th Annual Amelia Earhart Festival - downtown and on the Atchison Riverfront.

Saturday, July 21st - 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Atchison County Historical Society education booth - Aviation, Amelia and Planes of Paper: First Pioneer Club and Youth Paper Airplane Contest. Pioneer Club Program and Competition 11-noon. Training and qualifying sessions for general public runs from noon to 4 p.m. The Championship Paper Airplane Contest begins at 4 p.m. in the 700 Block of Commercial Street. Trophies and prizes to the top Paper Aviators and Aviatrixes.

Due to other commitments there will be no regular August ACHS Board of Directors Meeting.

September - date TBA - special 40th Anniversary Year program & event at Independence Creek Lewis and Clark Historic Site, 19917 314th Road, Atchison County. Full details in a future issue of "Go West..."

October 15th - 7 p.m. ACHS Annual Meeting and Program. Details and special quest TBA.

2008 - The Smithsonian Returns to Atchison - special exhibition coming to ACHS Museum sponsored by the Kansas Humanities Council.
