6000 Sq ft of space packed tightly with 1000's of artifacts plus a research library for all to use.
World's Smallest Presidential Library
This exhibits explains the pecular circumstance of the 24 hour presidentancy of David Rice Atchison, the name sake of the city and county.
It also describes the life of the one day president and his role in the formation of the Kansas-Nebraska Territory and how it led to the era in the territory known as "Bleeding Kansas."
Military Exhibit
We boast one of the best military collections in the country. Weapons and other militaria span wars from the Revolutionary War to World War II
Railroad History
Atchison is the birthplace of the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railroad Co. as well as a significant rail hub in the early days of the US expansion westward.
